Alvin & Diane moved to
Grand Forks, British
Columbia in 1994 from
Saskatchewan.
Although they regard
the prairies as their
roots - Grand Forks
has become their home.
Diane took a stained
glass class and became
intrigued with the
magical properties
that glass has. After
a few years - Alvin's
interest rose in the
art and they began to
do projects together.
Their stained glass
hobby rapidly grew
into a passion and a
lifestyle.
"With our own tastes
so diversified - our
clients'
individual and unique
requirements are a
welcomed challenge -
not a barrier.
We feel our designs
and ideas go beyond
the traditional art
glass limits.
People have
suggestions and ideas
about what they want -
we have the insight
and flexibility to
give it to them."
In 2003, they built
their current Studio
where they began to
create both
architectural and
giftware items for the
public. Because
of the need for large
amounts of glass,
tools and supplies
they found themselves
building an inventory
which prompted them to
open up a retail store
to the public.
The second phase of
the glass studio is
going to commence in
2006 - doubling the
square footage of
their studio to
accommodate their
ever-growing glass
supply inventory, plus
to house their glass
kilns and fusing
supplies and also
space to create larger
architectural
projects.
